The Case for Greatness
A February 2026 debate at the Oxford Union tried to dismiss Sir Winston Churchill as a villain. This view is historically illiterate. Churchill was a titan of Western Civilisation who spent his life fighting for the welfare of the common man, the liberty of the individual, and the protection of the Commonwealth and her allies.
Modern charges levied against him are inversions of the truth. They ignore the crushing burden of total war and the sacrifices of the British Empire in securing global freedom. They ignore that he was often the lone voice against tyranny, whether it marched from Moscow or Berlin.
